Cephalopod Movie Night with Science Friday!

6:30pm-9pm  $20

They’re quick, they’re clever, they’re masters of disguise and every year public radio program Science Friday dedicates a week to celebrating them. Cephalopod Week, Science Friday’s annual celebration of some of the smartest, most interesting invertebrates on Earth, is back, and Atlas Obscura and Science Friday are teaming up to make it a total cephalo-party!

Join us for an evening of talk, tentacles, and merriment, featuring four original short films from Science Friday at Public Works, as well as films by KQED’s Deep Look science series, that have never been shown in San Francisco before. This evening is your chance to rub elbows with Science Friday Executive Director Danielle Dana and KQED’s Deep Look Coordinating Producer, Gabriela Quirós. Ask them anything you want to know about these amazing, adaptive, and sometimes creepy creatures!

You’ll join other Atlas Obscura Society members and Science Friday listeners for this very special screening, sip the specialty cephalopod-themed cocktails, and engage in riveting conversation as you enjoy scenes of giant octopus attacks from 1950s cult film.
