7:00pm – 1:00am  $15 - $100

We have a choice as we reach the one year mark of the election: we can mourn it, or we can flip the script. Our chosen tool of resistance on Nov. 9: Love. Joy. Community. DANCE. It will be soulful and inspiring and fun. We will come together, dance our faces off, revive our resolve to resist, and invest in our country by supporting the effort to get power in the right hands.

WHAT:
A partaaay to raise your spirits + raise funds for progressive candidates in swing districts to take back the house via Swing Left. We’ll have DJs, a raffle, art, specialty drinks and dancing. Lots of dancing. Tonight we resist by coming together with love and joy.

HOW MUCH
$15: early bird tickets
$20: reg tickets
$25: at door tickets
$100+: a ticket to the event + special gift (TBD)

WHERE WILL $$ GO?
Proceeds from ticket sales will go toward Swing Left – www.swingleft.org. Sales from the raffle will fund our next event, a month-long art show and benefit which we will announce in 2018.

WHY
The point of “Take Back Nov. 9” is to have fun, revive our resolve to resist the Trump administration, and invest that energy into where it will make a difference.

Nov. 8 began promising, then turned into a shit day. We woke up with our heads held high. We wore suits to work and held parties in the evening. We felt confident and powerful. And then…

Nov. 9 was arguably worse than the day before. What a punch in the gut. We woke up and the horror was real. Some found it hard to go to work. Since then, every fear and concern we had has been proven to be justified. The past year has been an assault on core American values of racial, gender and economic equality, freedom of expression, journalism, the environment; respect, dignity and inclusiveness. It has been relentless. It has been exhausting. People have been harmed, intimidated, and marginalized. We have moved backwards as a country.

We have a choice as we reach the one year mark of the election: we can mourn it, or we can flip the script. Our chosen tool of resistance on Nov 9: Love. Joy. Community. It will be soulful and inspiring and fun. We will come together, dance our faces off, revive our resolve to resist, and invest in our country by supporting the effort to get power into the right hands.

To sustain the resistance, we need to move hearts and minds and contribute as we can in the right direction. In 2018 there will be many elections in swing districts that will make a difference in the balance of power in Washington. Swing Left is an organization of volunteers dedicated to raising funds and supporting progressive candidates nationwide in those districts that count the most.
