Friday Night’s Gonna Pop Off!

Or maybe it will go off. Either way it’s gonna rock. Opulent Temple is in the house at the Works and you know what that means? Syd Gris is gonna be bringing the noise and the madness with a line-up that’s beyond awesome. Headlining the show is French techno DJ, Popof, a guy who has been around since back in the ’90s (love that phrase), starting out with the infamous French free-party rave crew, Heretik System. As a prolific producer He has recorded material for a who’s who of techno labels, including, Turbo, Cocoon, A.F.U, Cr2, and Mistakes.

On top of that he has remixed Depeche Mode, Chemical Brothers, Moby, Booka Shade, Vitalic, Tiga and Martin Solveig, among others. And his tracks are  regularly playlisted in the charts of heavy-hitters such as Tiesto, Benny Benassi, Richie Hawtin, Ricardo Villalobos, Luciano, Sven Vath, John Digweed, Tiga, Sasha and Erol Alkan. As a DJ Popof tends towards a striking blend of minimal techno and electro.

In typical and suitable Opulent style — or in a style that is Opulent — the supporting talent is equally impressive. Dutch, Kramer, Influence, Dex Stakker, Jonboy and Brian Peek among others will be kicking out the jams on two floors and it should prove to be a night of refreshing technoid madness. So dress funky, think funky and get funky on the floor at the Works. We can’t wait! If you want to get pre-sale tickets you can do so here.
